It has been too long since I last posted and now I can't remember what came first. I am on the tail end of a nasty cold and worn out from too much late night Tour de France, thank goodness it is only a few more days (go Cadel!) until they are in Paris.
So I will make it short and sweet this week, in no particular order here are few of the things going on at l'uccello this past couple of weeks.
The pictures above and below are treasures from my personal collection that I took along for my talk at a recent Milliner's Association meeting. I was very grateful for the invitation, as I am for the great support l'uccello receives from the Millinery industry. They are truly passionate and inspiring and I can't wait until Spring to see all of the new collections.
The top three photos are my recent window display for Kozminskys, I thought they would brighten things up on a grey day. 1400 spots made from fused silk, die cut and graduating through rainbows of luscious colour, shimmery and vibrant as only silk can be. The quote below is so true don't you think? This is on the window of another favourite store of mine Bison, I think I want one of everything they make. I LOVE their colours and their ceramics are so lovely to use, simple, functional and beautiful.
Gorgeous new deliveries from France and Belgium, lovely threads, delicate embroidered silk hankies and lovely antique lace.
So many new Liberty designs I can't decide which one I love more, more colourways and patterns in Tana Lawn classics and a lovely range of seasonals. Exciting news, Liberty have a new lifestyle range of fabrics, suitable for all sorts of projects and perfect for quilting, a little heavier than the lawn and very reasonably priced. We are expecting our first delivery in September, bright and cheerful designs that will be just the the thing to celebrate the arrival of Spring.
One of my favourite Liberty designs is Betsy and the picture on the bottom right is the new colourway, too gorgeous!
Absolutely the cutest delivery last week was these boxes full of cards of cashmere mending yarn, who knew Pingouins could knit.
