I love the word accoutrement and it seems perfect for the beautiful, rare and amusing arrivals this week, including Victorian enamel buttons, paper scraps, antique lace, trims and millinery supplies.
It has been a fabulous week, busy with lots of lovely visitors who read the article in last weeks Age about l'uccello. Also a quite humbling one too, with very kind, sweet letters and anonymous little gifts of lace arriving in the mail and the generosity of others who visited the store. So thank you to all our customers, you really are an inspiration and we are very grateful for your custom.
The best quote of the week came from a a patient husband who described l'uccello as a bit like a Bunnings for women, gorgeous!
Vintage millinery trims, exquisite Victorian enamel buttons, probably the best we have ever had, antique sewing tools, beautiful fine French cotton lace and lovely dark lustrous metallic lace and braid.
More wonderful buttons including this set of steel and mother of pearl buttons and the stunning boxed set of lithograph buttons which are now part of my private collection.
Boxed sets of Art Nouveau oyster shells and diminutive enamel buttons
Gorgeous new selection of original Victorian paper scraps (well spotted by Miss Pen Pen, many thanks!)
Including this full set of anthropomorphic animals, some people think they are a bit spooky but I love them.
Update on the crazy patchwork classes with Robyne Melia, only 2 places left so if you are keen to join get in quick.
Have super weekend, hope the Grand Prix doesn't drive you mad X
